It's amazingly warm here with a temperature of +6 degrees. Who told me Canada would be cold? OK so it was -16 degrees two weeks ago. The warm temperature has turned the lot into a very muddy building site so we kinda wish it would freeze again, then we can walk around without getting too muddy and sinking. I know mud used to be my "thing" but living with it 24 x 7 is really too much.
However, the warm temps have made it perfect weather for using our new hot tub - the only thing in the house with an electricity supply and water in it! We have no shower, no bog (except for the one in the Caravan) but the hot tub works! Hubby and I have spent 2 hours in it each night (Sat and Sun). At this rate it will have paid for itself in a year and we won't have had to share it with anyone else. It's a wonderful feeling, sitting in a tub of hot, bubbly water, looking at the snow on the hills across the valley and the pine trees swaying in the wind, listening to an owl hooting in the trees. Not so wonderful when you have to leg-it from the tub to the "bedroom" to get dry and dressed. Bear in mind, we have no drapes, no walls and no doors yet to keep out the draughts. Hence the two-hour stints. If the blood temperature can be raised to 37 degrees by the tub - the cold doesn't get to you for a good half an hour after.
